  1. One of the best hotels in Austin. The staff is great and really attentive day or night. I was impressed with the rooms, the service and especially the staff. Make sure to spend a few extra days here!

  2. I brought my mom here for her Christmas gift; I booked some spa services and a room for the night. The spa was excellent and moderately priced. The staff in the spa were very professional and friendly. We loved the gentleman at the front desk in the spa! He was a delight!
The resort itself is beautiful. After our spa services, we wandered into town for lunch, then drove back to the resort where we checked into our room for the night. Our room was a lake view room, and it was beautiful! I highly recommend paying the extra amount for a lake view room.
We had dinner at the TR Restaurant; we came on a slow night. The service was excellent, and the food was wonderful. The lady at the front desk of the resort suggested we get the calamari as an appetizer, and holy cow I’m glad we did; it was so good! Everything was very good.
After dinner we went to the pool and hot tub; it was extremely peaceful and such a nice night. The pool and hot tub overlook the lake, and at night it was beautiful with all the lights from the marina across the lake.
Our night in the hotel was nice and quiet. When we left in the morning, checking out was very easy.
Overall, it was a great experience, and we will definitely be back!

  3. Love this resort. Spa services are great. We come here every year for our anniversary and it’s the perfect get away.

  4. We visited for the first time in February for Valentine’s Day and we returned yesterday for our anniversary trip. We always have such a great time! The rooms are comfortable, the staff is friendly, the place is just super relaxing. We are on the 6th floor with a balcony and views of Lake Travis, gorgeous views! It’s a splurge and a great time always

  5. Great place to take the family and if you need some alone time to enjoy the spa, pool or even to go out to dinner they have a great kids zone. Kid loved it and got to make friends play some mini golf, and watch a movie. Staff was super attentive and friendly. The grounds were very well maintained and views were spectacular.

  6. The restaurant here is an unknown and hidden oasis. With a deck overlooking the many pools and a view of Lake Travis, the food was outstanding. The tuna tacos are light crispy and flavorful. The burgers were worth coming back for, the redfish was delish and the little gem salad was spot on. Presentation for all our dishes was creative and thoughtful. The chocolate torte was spot on and I’m not a desert eater.
    Highly recommend!!!

  7. The service here is great, all of the employees are really accommodating to anything you need here. The view from the forth floor rooms are really amazing, the rooms could use a microwave just a heads up. The atmosphere is really cosy and relaxed, cleaned, and professional.

  8. A great vacation resort. The pools and facilities were great! The marina is down the road to rent boats, jet skis, etc… The staff was great!
Elvis was a great and wrapped up our vacation with very kind words as we loaded our vehicle to leave.

  9. I really enjoyed myself at this upscale Texas Hill Country resort while in Austin for a company function.

Lakeway Resort & Spa is perched above the shimmering waters of Lake Travis about 20 minutes west of downtown Austin. With three pools and plenty of water recreation on the lake itself, this place is truly an oasis in the hot Texas sun.

Our company function utilized the pool area as the location for a welcoming reception featuring famous Texas BBQ, tasty Mexican specialties and sweet desserts.

Four big stars in the Lone Star State.

  10. Beautiful grounds and spectacular views. The bar area was comfortable and relaxing. The pool areas are well planned and offer every opportunity to either relax or play to your heart’s content. The only downside to our stay was the room. We had an executive suite that we got a special for on hotwire. I was thankful we only paid $250 for our room. The rooms lacked the lustre that a $300-$500 room would possess. They are in need of remodel and renovation in order to achieve the ambience of a nicer resort feel. However, the beds were extremely comfortable and the spa line toiletries were awesome.
This is a great place for a young family as there is much for the kiddos to do in the pool area and kids zone. Well planned pool area.
The parking needs to be expanded or a 24hr shuttle to and from the marina lot needs to be added for client convenience. Even with the renovation needs and parking insufficiency, good place to stay.

  11. Highly recommended. I had a great weekend at Lakeway resort and spa. I proposed to my now fiance and the Lakeway resort and spa staff were extremely helpful. Elsie was amazing. We were in communication up until the day of arrival and helped me choose and set up the room exactly how I wanted. The room was clean. The TVs are a little outdated. The pool area is very nice.

The service was great. The amenities were nice. Would stay again.

  12. LakeWay Resort is AMAZING!!

Very reasonable prices and friendly staff!

If you are 21+ they have an amazing pool with a swim up bar

If you had children they have a children’s pool with slides and games!

    Perfect for a weekend getaway!

  13. First of all, let me start by saying the views are amazing. I wanted a wedding venue overlooking the lake, and we found the perfect one!!!!

Alex, the wedding coordinator with the property, is super efficient, easy to work with, and amazingly friendly. She helped the day run smoothly and was there for all of my questions along the way. Honestly, if we had not met her first, we may not have chosen this venue. So Alex, you earned your resort 5 stars!!! Go you!!

We chose to get married on the porch of the Vistas room. It was flat out perfect. It is small as it only seats 50, but if you are having a small wedding, it is the most amazing wedding ceremony space. The rain held off and we had a perfect ceremony overlooking beautiful Lake Travis.

For our reception, we chose the Sunset room. The Vistas is prettier, but with only 50 people we wanted a more intimate space. At first glance it looks a little dark, but our DJ brought uplight and it ended up perfect.

The food was way better than I expected, and the chef even was careful with my food alleges. We went with Filet and Shrimp. AMAZING!!

The bell hops are very helpful and happy to help you at any point along the way. Elvis is a character and is sure to make you smile. Sorry guys, but he is the only name that stuck in my head!

My only word of caution is that the front desk personnel are not stellar. I had to go through Alex and Stephanie who work the large party part of the resort, because the front desk had multiple issues with my guests reservations. As my friends and family were checking in, they had issues with rooms not being ready and were not really helpful or apologetic for making them wait. But hey, it all worked out, and the good very much outweighed the bad!

Thank you Lakeway Resort and Spa for a perfect wedding!!

  14. (This review is about the restaurant, pool, and amenities as I have never stayed overnight here)

We have an annual family event here. Multiple rooms are rented and we have fun with all the kids, families, and cousins while ending each weekend night indulging on food and drink.

I appreciate the relaxing time by the pool, the staff, and the international presence here. Some of the staff speak multiple languages, sometimes, so passively that they do not recognize that I understand them and I just answer easily; later they seem embarrassed that they slipped out of English and into something like German and did not recognize it.
Overall, I have never had a concern about assistance, the amenities, or anything else I could note of.

As to the food. Some of it is slightly higher “resort” prices for some items, but you cannot fret the quality of it. I have eaten here annually for about 3 years and it has been consistently good with the flavors and the servers and service staff have always been attentive to our requests when we celebrate birthdays and the such.

For a dining experience while you are here it is very nice and relaxing. For weddings and special events, it is just as nice and pleasant. I cannot attest to the overnight stays, reservations, or other items, but from those in my family; no one has complained.

  15. If i could give this place 10 stars i would. Loved every relaxing minute i stayed here. And if your looking for a place to stay in the Lakeway area, look no further. The bel hop literally ran to open my car door and took my bags and said ” my job is to ensure your are smiling from the minute you get here to the moment you leave” he was great!!! Our room had a great view of lake Travis and even a small patio we could enjoy our coffee on. The whole resort was wonderful. Especially the pools, and swim up bar. The gym was also very new and great equipment. The entire staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. There are so many free activities they offer for you. Free parking and WiFi. Our room was so quiet! In the mornings we had deer below us on the ground. I would love to come back and stay longer next time!

  16. Overall, I loved my stay at Lake Resort & Spa! The view was BEAUTIFUL. I have no complaints.

  17. Stay here. It is a beautiful location and the rooms are five star. The staff at check in were lovely and there is a stellar pool and swim up bar at the pool. I don’t understand why they have a poor beer selection without an IPA or quality craft beer. Also, it would be nice to have the SEC network in the room or at one of the bars. Otherwise, it is near perfection.

  18. For three days, we enjoyed our 4th floor room with a breathtaking lake view. The room had all the amenities you can expect from a resort. We spent most of our time at the pool — there was just so much pool, and the infinity pool, then the huge hot tub. There always seem to be refreshments when we walk past the warm and inviting lobby. Room service was speedy and the food was outstanding. We also tried several restaurants, just 15 minutes away. When our smoke alarm battery waned, the building engineer took care of it in less than five minutes! Their sunny gym has plenty of space, machines and weights. Additionally, there are scenic running routes just out the entrance. Also just out the entrance and past the parking garage is the marina where you can rent your water toys.

  19. We stayed here while they had a great promotion –$100 resort credit and kids eat free. This ended up being a great deal since there are no immediate restaurants nearby.

The grounds are beautiful and so is the lake view and hill country. The hotel staff were all friendly and hospitable including the front desk, bartenders and restaurant staff. Does the rooms need a little updating? Sure but this didn’t affect our stay at all. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the rooms are clean. It took awhile for the air to kick in but it did.

Most importantly, the kids had a blast. They enjoyed the kid zone for an hour (10 bucks) and they played ping ping, foosball, air hockey and a few other things. They have inflatable slides but they are geared for younger children. They also really enjoyed the pool. The staff keeps it very clean.

The restaurant was pretty good. The omelets are great and the kids really liked the chicken strips for dinner. The brisket was very tender but full of fat.

Some reviewers say it’s overpriced. People, you are paying for the amazing views not a pristine resort. You’ve gotta pay to play.

The only negative thing for me is the late 4 o’clock check in — I feel it should be 2pm.

Overall we had a fabulous stay and plan to return next year! (BTW ask for a room close to the pool!)

  20. We had a great time at the resort for girls weekend! The room was on the 3rd floor and it was nice and quiet. breakfast was good and the staff were all really nice.

we enjoyed the ambience. We would stay there again!

  21. The entire staff was great and extremely friendly except for the manager I think his name was Ethan. We were there Feb. 13th weekend. The Bartender, Natalie was awesome.
Even though she had a huge crowd of
Really disrespectful patrons, she was professional and took care of business. The useless black thugs that were in the bar that night were just ruining everybody’s night.

  22. Our Valentine’s weekend was incredible. Rachel Smith was very accommodating from the time I booked our stay on January 14, 2016. I called the resort to ensure my reservation went through online. Rachel sent me a copy of my reservation and a hyperlink to all their spa services. Rachel is an amazing worker with best customer service skills. She was very patient and greeted us with a smile.

When we arrived at the resort on February12, 2016 at 1:00 pm and our room was not ready yet. We waited patiently in the lobby for 25 minutes. I was not feeling we because my sinuses combined with allergies were bothering me. About 20 minutes later I decided to walk up to the check in counter and ask if our room was ready yet. Me and my husband Andrew wanted to start off our Valentine’s weekend early. Rachel kindly told me the rooms are generally available at 4:00 pm. She gave us a card for 2 complimentary drinks at the bar.

Another coworker from the resort walked up to the counter named Melisa. Rachel asked Melisa if there were any rooms available. Melisa had a floor plan of all the rooms and their status. She told me if we could wait 5-10 minutes while she checked on a room for us. Melisa was back within 3 minutes. She said with a friendly smile, I found a room for you on a higher floor. She said Rachel will get you checked. We thanked Melisa for finding us a room because we were excited to kick off our Valentine’s weekend.

When we arrived at room 504. We were extremely happy. The balcony lake view was unbelievable. Melisa and Rachel upgraded us to a beautiful romantic Mansfield Suite. That afternoon we were able to relax and take in a swim in the heated pool. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the beautiful sunset. We were excited to kick off our Marriage Retreat on Saturday afternoon. Every time we passed Rachel at the lobby she always smiled and greeted us. We thoroughly enjoyed the 2 day stay at the resort. We will cherish our memories of this stay.

We look forward to coming back to the resort for many years to come. We will tell all of our friends and family of our wonderful experience. We hope to stay at the resort next year.

Rachel and Melisa are crucial to making our stay wonderful!! Thank you both for your awesome hospitality. We hope you both get recognized and rewarded for your impressive customer service skills. Thanks again!!!

  23. We had a Lakeview with Balcony room and we would have been so upset if we didn’t get the balcony. We spent a lot of time out there. The weather (over Valentine’s Day weekend) was perfect. The heated pool and hot tubs were very appreciated. Our room was clean!

The ladies who checked us in on Feb. 13 were very patient. They had to deal with some uncalled for behavior.

First, a couple who said that they should have been guaranteed a higher floor for the price. The wife argued and then demanded that they give up someone’s room who hadn’t checked in yet (keep in mind this was 3:30 p.m., still before you are supposed to be able to check in anyway). The ladies politely explained they couldn’t do that. The woman was rude and irrational. Love was not in the air.

Second, a terribly disrespectful man approached the desk. I couldn’t hear the entire conversation but he used some foul language toward one of the ladies and the manager (I’m assuming) said, “Please do not talk to my employee that way. Be respectful.” The man started yelling, “I AM THE CUSTOMER. You have to be polite to me. I can talk to you however I want. What are you going to do about it?” The manager answered “If you cannot be respectful I can ask you to leave the property.” The man seemed more irritated by that and started daring them to ask him to leave. The women handled this better than I ever could have, and even calmed him down. The manager seemed a little shaky after his immature stunt, but I tried to cheer her up.

We didn’t eat at the restaurant (Make reservations if you plan to!) but we had dinner just 10 mins away at this amazing place called Fore.

Explore the property! It is stunning.

  24. Lakeway Resort and Spa is an amazing resort hotel tucked away on scenic lake Travis. About 30 minutes from downtown Austins (or 90 minutes in rush hour lol) this beautiful lakeside setting is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. With the water levels back up this summer, the lake is simply magnificent to just stare at and relax. For those who are more adventurous, the Marina located on inlet side has boat and jetski rentals, as well as party barge charters. Some local fishing guides also operate out of this marina if you are in search of freshwater trophies.

Lakeway Resorts rooms are spacious, updated and luxurious. The views from the lakeside are worth the price upgrade. The resort fee is annoying to say the least, however the internet is fast and free parking is nice.

The main restaurant and bar is a very large but intimate space. The drinks from the bar were expertly made with fast and friendly service. The food here however is in need of a major overhaul. I tired some brisket nachos that were nothing short of hideous. Think velveeta meets cheap BBQ sauce. The replacement cheeseburger was meh.

Overall, this is a great place to visit, and in the winter the rates are quite reasonable.

    Brian J., 6 years ago
  25. This was a beautiful resort, with a really cool pool deck and terrific views of Lake Travis. The people were very nice. The bars were warm and hospitable. And they have good conference facilities. Just be warned they are up in the Hill Country, so it’s a 45 minute ride into Austin for music. So not the place for a trip to Austin, but a perfect place to relax and enjoy the quiet and scenery.

There are white tail deer everywhere, and the lake is beautiful.

There are decent restaurants in the Hill Country, but the shuttle will only take you within 5 miles, and there is only one restaurant within that zone. That’s my only issue. (Uber works, but give it time… and there are not many cabs. The resort does serve food, which isn’t bad.)

  26. I got engaged here! The staff was helpful and polite. They gave us a room with a beautiful room and we were able to rent a boat at a reasonable price. The hotel room was clean and there was really nothing to complain about ! I will be going back !

    Wendy Q., 7 years ago
  27. The staff here were friendly and attentive, right from the start we felt like the staff cared about us. Our room was large, with nice chairs and a table, and had lake views. We sat every night in the lobby bar. They have cute rocking chairs over looking the lake. Very relaxing with great service. We sat out there all three days and smoke cigars and had a couple of craft beers. We ate in the hotel each night and were not disappointed there was a great variety of dishes my only disappointment was that I couldn’t try more, after all there is only so much you can eat.
    Breakfast was extensive and fresh.

The really big bonus was the staff. The reception was friendly and welcoming, the waiters and other bar staff were helpful and knowledgeable about the food on offer, the staff was very friendly – thanks for a great stay.

  28. Great Hotel and Spa. Pools are cool! They have a children pool area and an Adult side. Also has a poolside bar. Rooms are spacious, especially if u get a view of lake.

Cons: some of signs in hotel are a little confusing, like Mastersons restaurant is wrong.
Mastersons is a nice restaurant but Dinner menu is limited and slightly pricey. $25 for 8oz steak.

    Albert R., 7 years ago
  29. We went for spring break on a combined business/fun trip.

There were a few issues with attention to detail which I brought to the managers attention. He responded quickly and I hope they take those items into consideration.

We were very happy with our experience – my son loved the pool and my husband loved the daily happy hour. The room was lovely and very spacious!

My son forgot his bear, I called house keeping who responded right away and shipped it back the same day.

We also rented a boat from their marina and were very happy with the service there too.

Overall I would recommend the hotel for a get away or business conference.
