Lake Austin Spa Resort never disappoints. I’ve been frequenting for years and recently visited in September-it’s better than ever! Lots of added amenities and icing on top to make guests even more comfortable-new bar feature in outdoor dining area, wine bar in the gift shop, revamped menu with so much variety, new activities, beautifully remodeled pool area and finishing touches in rooms. New spa services added to the already extensive menu with lots of Texas details. The service was even better than I’d remembered, and I truly felt like I was transported to a little piece of paradise. Can’t wait to return. If you haven’t visited, it’s a must, and if you have, it’s definitely worth going back. Lake Austin Spa Resort exceeds all expectations, and for the price-you really can’t beat it! Great for solo, couples or group!

Lake Austin Spa was absolutely fantastic. My husband and I live in downtown Austin and came here for a staycation. First off the grounds are beautiful – you are literally steps away from Lake Austin with views of the lake from every room. There is a little boathouse where you can take out kayaks, paddle boards, and even the pontoon to wake surf if you want. There are also plenty of spaces to just sit and enjoy the view and being outside.
Our room felt like its own little cabin on the lake with a porch and seating outside to enjoy coffee and treats.
Speaking of treats, at 3 pm everyday they put out the sweetest little surprises such as homemade cookies, muffins or zucchini bread. The dining situation was also fantastic, beautifully curated menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner that are thoughtful, healthy and full of flavor – all using vegetables and herbs from the garden on site.
The property also has an abundance of activities on site and off if you choose. We did the noon boat cruise that is offered daily and a sculpt + balance class in the Treehouse. But they offer everything from yoga to hikes to cooking classes and art classes.
But lets get to the good stuff THE SPA – WOW. My husband and I got an 80 minute couples massage and it was truly one of the best I have ever had. There are also steam rooms, sauna, and whirlpool in each of the mens/womens locker rooms – I could have stayed there all day.

Just celebrated my sister’s 40th birthday for an overnight staycation and it was the perfect spot to rest, recharge, and celebrate a big milestone! We enjoyed the “For the Love of Water” package, where we kicked off our stay with a boat ride around Lake Austin, then came back to the resort for massages, and immediately into a glass of sparkling rose with an A+ cheese and charcuterie board. Our dinner was incredible (order the steak if you love red meat), the service was top notch, and we especially felt great knowing we were having a healthy meal dining out, which feels like such a rarity these days. The next morning, I took an Aquastretch class which focused on massaging my myofacial tissue, and I will ABSOLUTELY be coming back to the resort to book a session just for this. After our pool time, we had breakfast delivered to our room so we could enjoy breakfast in our robes (it’s been so long since we’ve done that!) and grabbed a fresh made smoothie for the road.
What I love most about Lake Austin Spa is you’re about 30 minutes from downtown Austin, yet you feel like you’re far, far away in the most peaceful and tranquil spot with nothing but luxury pampering and healthy nourishment at your fingertips. I would’ve stayed for an entire year if they let me. Best sister staycation and celebration I could’ve asked for!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the enchanting Lake Austin Spa Resort for the first time, and I must say, it was a truly lovely experience. My sister and I went for a getaway in celebration of my birthday, and it turned out to be the ideal overnight staycation for unwinding, recharging, and rejuvenating among the breathtaking beauty of the Texas Hill Country. I was particularly taken by the stunning views of the lake and the surrounding nature that created a picturesque backdrop that instantly set the tone for a peaceful escape outside of Austin.
The accommodations were perfect — it was a nice mix of luxury and comfort, providing an inviting and cozy retreat that made us feel right at home. Our Luxury LakeView room had a beautiful panoramic view of the lake right outside our door (and oh my those beds, I slept like a dream). It was so peaceful waking up and enjoying coffee on our private front porch while watching the sunlight twinkle on the water.
The relaxing spa experience featuring my 50-minute custom massage along with the outdoor activities including 90-minute boat outing were the highlights of my stay, yet each moment at the retreat exceeded all expectations. Not to mention the staff was so kind, lovely, and helpful — they were so welcoming, they really set the scene for a comfortable stay. The resort offers an amazing balance of wellness and recreation with a full activities calendar that I’m eyeing for my next stay — I can’t wait to return. We left feeling so much gratitude for the memorable experience that Lake Austin Spa Resort provided for a perfect sister getaway that was nothing short of magical.

I got to spend the day at the Lake Austin Spa property with multiple family members and it was wonderful from start to finish. The massage that Sophia gave was strong, as I had requested. The lunch starters and main course were healthy and tasty and the flourless chocolate cake with berries and creme fraiche was fantastic. They have self service tea and coffee stations probably enjoyed 8 cups of tea throughout the day, along with other fruit and nuts and a delightful afternoon cookie.
I’m so relaxed and my body feels great. What a great place to reset!

Wonderful experience at the Lake Austin Spa Resort with an Umlauf Sculpture Garden event. The rainy evening did not deter the amazing chef from creating a fabulous paella! Staff support was phenomenal in adjusting to the unplanned (but welcomed) rain! What a gorgeous location. My first visit!

I came to the resort for a two night staycation from Austin, and it’s honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself! The staff are all amazing, remember you and your stories, and offer personal touches throughout your stay. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and quiet with individual patio spaces—it feels like the most luxurious adult summer camp!
At first, I thought I might just bliss out solo and read for three days in a comfortable spot and EAT, but I ended up meeting fabulous other travelers who became dining companion and friends during all the activities—there’s so many!
The food was really spectacular at every meal with tons and tons of options, and the front of house staff were all so gracious and accommodating. We met Chef Eric one night, who was also so happy to sing the well-deserved praises of his staff.
My goal was to bliss out on vacation and not think about anything, and that’s what I got! A fully inclusive, sublime experience that was one of the most rewarding vacations I’ve had as an adult (it was worth every penny!)

Lake Austin Spa & Resort is the perfect place to escape and unwind. I booked a staycation here (as I’m local to Austin), and I couldn’t be more happy.
Upon arrival you can feel the tranquil energy of this place. The staff is overly accommodating and remarkably hospitable. Everyone was so friendly and quick to assist us with anything we needed.
If you come you HAVE to try a spa service. I did the Valmont Alpine facial and my skin is still glowing writing this review. I’ve genuinely never left somewhere feeling so relaxed. Seriously this place is worth every penny.

This place is so serene and peaceful! We went for a staycation for a couple of days and the resort treated us really well. The food was fresh – farm to table and so good. We went during the summer and while it was hot, the lake cooled us off with the activities they had – paddleboarding, kayaking, boating etc. Loved that the resort is also dog friendly. My dog was so spoiled the whole time and they fed her rice and chicken/steak everyday. Would definitely come back!!

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a men’s massage at Lake Austin Spa Resort, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience. Jason, my massage therapist, provided a truly relaxing and stress-free session that exceeded my expectations.
From the moment I arrived at the spa, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The ambiance of the resort and spa itself was soothing, creating an ideal environment for relaxation. Jason’s expertise and attentiveness immediately put me at ease.
Jason’s skillful touch and intuitive understanding of the right pressure were remarkable. Throughout the massage, he applied just the right amount of pressure to release tension and knots, leaving me feeling thoroughly relaxed. His technique was both invigorating and soothing, creating a perfect balance that helped me unwind.
Overall, I highly recommend Jason for a men’s massage at Lake Austin Resort & Spa.

This was my 4th visit and not my last. What a special Mother/Daughter day we had with amazing massages and facials. Lunch was perfect, we both had salads (goat cheese and ahi tuna) with yummy green apple sorbet for dessert. The staff could not be more gracious, conversational, and professional. We took advantage of every amenity but mostly loved walking the stunning grounds, relaxing and talking. It was a great day, thank you again.

Purchased my wife and mother-in-law spa services for Mother’s Day and couldn’t have been more thrilled about their experiences.
They both came home with nothing but great things to say about their experiences with a facial from Michelle.
Skin glowing and full of smiles.
The massage therapist Chris they said was without a doubt the best they have ever had hands down. Clearly knew what he was doing and helped my mother-in-law with back pain while getting her to relax. Cared about their well-being and with excellent bedside manners. The technique was something way different previous sessions. Best in the business.
Thank you Lake Austin Spa for making these two beautiful women feel like a million bucks. We will definitely be coming back.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Lake Austin Spa with my 2 daughters and I have to say, it was an absolute dream come true. From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of exceptional.
First and foremost, the location of the spa is simply stunning. Nestled right on the edge of Lake Austin, the views are breathtaking and the tranquility of the surroundings is unparalleled. As soon as I arrived, I felt my stress melt away and my mind and body begin to relax.
The accommodations were also top-notch. I stayed in one of the spa’s luxury cottages and it was beautifully appointed and incredibly comfortable. From the plush bedding to the cozy robes, every detail had been thoughtfully considered to create a truly luxurious experience.
Of course, the highlight of my visit was the spa treatments themselves. I indulged in several massages and facials and each one was better than the last. The therapists were incredibly skilled and attentive, and I felt completely pampered and rejuvenated after each session.
The spa also offers a wide range of activities, including yoga, meditation, and water sports on the lake. I particularly enjoyed the guided nature hikes, which allowed me to explore the beautiful surroundings while getting some exercise and fresh air.
Did I mention the incredible cuisine? Every meal was fresh and full of flavor. I give it a 10.
Overall, I cannot recommend Lake Austin Spa highly enough. I have been coming for over 20 years from Chicago- first with my mom, then with girlfriends and now with my daughters and have never tried another spa destination. The service, facilities, and location are all absolutely first-class and I left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and rejuvenated. If you’re looking for a luxurious and indulgent spa getaway, this is the place for you!

This quaint “cottage at the lake” feel resort was exactly what I needed to get recentered. Staying on Lake Austin is so relaxing and away from the hustle of everyday life. You can take as many classes as you want, to none or just a few to your liking. The staff is friendly and welcoming and not stuffy or rude like other resorts, they easily can become your friend like a next door neighbor feel. The food is literally amazing to any other spa resort I’ve been to. I can’t seem to get enough even though I’m always satisfied afterwards. The class instructors are available for questions and most will share an email address for additional information. The spa has been remodeled and is beautiful, can’t wait to see more of what is planned. My custom massage was perfect and the therapist was very attentive to my concerns. With just 40 cottage rooms you seriously feel like you are on a trip at your friends lake house. Not crowded so you feel like family when you leave. This is my second year in a row and will continue to be an annual trip!

Went for a short girls trip, and really enjoyed all aspects of the resort. The spa was nice, the decor was cute, the environment was generally relaxing, there were plenty of fitness/nature activities, but let me tell you – the food was unbelievable. Every meal was incredibly delicious. Would definitely visit again.

I stayed one night with my mother to celebrate our birthdays; the experience was amazingly unique! The moment we drove into the resort was so welcoming.
The service from the front desk, activities, and all the employees from the restaurant was genuine, kind besides the food was exquisite.
We enjoyed other companions besides the long talks while enjoying good food; if I’m not mistaken, we spent about 3 or 4 hours during lunchtime!
The rooms have a lot of details; I fell in love with the cozy and moist stockings they offer to help with dry skin, not to mention a frame and a plate to remember our stay. The showers are super comfortable. I slept like a baby, and the bed was cozy and delicious. I had a deep, restful night. My mom is more of a night person; she spent time on the terrace admiring the stars and the calm river.
Our visit to the spa was on point; even though the locker area was renovated, the room was comfortable, and we enjoyed the jet pool and the dry sauna. The services from the employees were better than expected.
In general, it was an experience that we would recommend you to have, and I would like to experience it again and again and again; I understand why they have such a distinguished monarchy member program. Looking forward to that

I had an awesome experience at the Lake Austin Spa Resort this week. The staff was fantastic – they were welcoming, friendly and willing to make great suggestions on everything from meals to spa treatments. Everyone was super – the front desk staff, the food and beverage team, the spa staff, the activities team and the maintenance staff all went above and beyond. Keith Nelson, the resort manager, was particularly great.
The resort is casual, which I love, yet the food and services were top notch. They are making noted upgrades and I expect it will be even better on my next visit. I highly recommend!

Lake Austin Resort and Spa is phenomenal! From the moment we checked in we were made to feel special and pampered. The food is beyond fantastic and they have recently reinstituted their evening turndown service, which we loved. The spa is located slightly up the hill from the resort and is gorgeous. The attendants were lovely and the wide array of available treatments was truly impressive! It would be my pleasure to award more than 5 stars to this wonderful destination. We will be returning!

Lake Austin spa and resort was amazing. The room, spa services, wine cruise, food and other amenities were just what I needed to have a relaxing “staycation”. I was welcomed with a warm smile and a tour of the resort from a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I had a fantastic dinner overlooking Lake Austin which was beautiful and the wait staff were very attentive to my needs. I then when to the spa for a massage that put me to sleep! There were three pools that that were clean and well maintained. It was such a great experience and I cant wait to go back again very soon!

This hideaway resort is just amazing. From the quaint bungalow rooms overlooking the lake to the perfectly appointed grounds, this stunning getaway is a must. I stayed for a weekend and had the BEST food and beverage and the spa is world class with the most seasoned therapists. I did not want to leave and cannot wait to spend more time there. Just wonderful.

My stay at Lake Austin was a true wellness oasis! The staff was outstanding, catering, and so kind. The environment is very uplifting, positive, and promotes a sense of peace and calm while still having energy! The grounds were impeccable. The activities were versatile, and I loved all of the instructors. This is a true gem in Austin and I will definitely be coming back! Not to mention, the food was incredible and the spa services were top notch!

Absolutely LOVE Lake Austin Spa Resort, one of my favorite experiences in Austin! The property is stunning – the whole resort sits right on the shores of Lake Austin and is totally private and exclusive. The rooms are super comfortable and beautiful, the food was amazing (love that they recently added more wine choices – amazing wine list!) – my husband and I had the best stay! Can’t wait to go back!

I found my happy place!!!! Lake Austin Spa & Resort is it. I went with 2 people and we all had great experiences. We each went for the holiday half day package. We got there 1/2 hour early so we could use the facilities all day if we wanted, we started with the Custom Comfort Massage, had a gourmet meal, went into the sauna and ended with the facial.
Our main meal was a wonderful shrimp, vegetable & black rice dish. Yum!
If I was on a budget, I would go for the facial, because they also give you a mini message (neck, head & arms) while the products are working. My therapist was Becky Bence (sp?) and she was wonderful. She talked about each product she applied. Afterwards she gave me a list.
Every client was smiling after the facial!
I plan to bring my Mom here the next time she visits.

I’ve been to the spa here several times over the years and I’ve never been disappointed. The services are top notch, but I come back for the amenities. There’s is an outdoor pool with pool beds you can swim or relax. There is a lap pool that is great for the winter. They have a whirlpool inside as well as a sauna. The relaxation room is on the 2nd floor and includes a porch with a view. You can make a complete day of it and have healthy/low calorie meal in the cafe. I love eating in my robe. There is also fruit for snacks and lots of tea. It really feels like you are at a resort. It’s also right off the lake.

I’d give this hidden gem MORE STARS if they were available! My friend and I stayed the weekend to celebrate our bdays. What a treat…the classes(workout, cooking, wellness), the guest cottages, the facilities were all top notch. It is in the most beautiful area, looking out onto the lake and bluffs.

Southern hospitality at its best!

Was so impressed with Austin Lake Spa… great atmosphere, wonderful for some “you time”. No one will smoother you. The staff is kind and polite. Very happy with my half day. Lunch was set in perfect portions and great flavor. Bring a book, sunglasses, and a swimsuit.

This place rocks every world. The spa is absolutely beautiful. The resort takes you to a relaxed heaven. The decor is country chic. Overlooking the river was breathtaking. The massages are relaxing. I got a deep tissue-it was more like light to medium pressure. But very good and I have no complaints at all. The steam and jacuzzi are delightful. The seating areas are spacious and comfortable. The pools are so amazing. Take your bathing suit. I forgot mine. Yep I regret that. But even to sit at the pools and yes walk down to the Grand barn pool. And boy is it Grand. We then walked down to the lake. This is a must. There is tons of seating. And if you are lucky grab a hammock. I could have stayed all day in each area. Lake Austin Spa Resort should be a must check out on your list if your in Austin. I can’t wait to visit again.
