Hill Country Winery Distillery and Brewery Tours is the perfect experience to complete your stay on Lake Travis. Whether it’s a weekend getaway with family or friends, a bachelorette party with the ladies or a corporate retreat with colleagues, escape the city for the afternoon with a trip to the Texas Hill Country.

We’ll pick up your group from a predetermined location where you will take our private 14 passenger van to enjoy the offerings of 3 wineries, distilleries or breweries, along with small bites to accompany the wine tastings. We will also stop at Mazama Coffee Co. for a caffeine boost to keep the afternoon going.

You decide the mix of wineries, breweries and distilleries…try one of each! Our private tours offer you and your guests a unique opportunity to enjoy the scenery and libations only found in the Texas Hill Country without having to concern yourselves with the driving. Simply show up, relax and enjoy a fabulous afternoon.

I hired Chef Mike for Ladies weekend at the Lake for the Libation tour on Friday and Dinner on Saturday.
First of all, us 60+ YO fell in love with Mike. He is a hoot! Very personable, kind and entertaining.
The libation tour was fun. PLUS, Mike told us about a great BBQ place that was near the winery where we order a togo and Mike picked it up and kept it warm in a cooler while we did the wine and distillery thing! Saturday night he came over to our house and cooked a fabulous 4 course meal. Oh my gosh, so worth it! We did the beef tenderloin, sensation salad, and bananas foster. THE BEST! He was a joy to work with. Thank you Mike. We hope to see you again soon.

Absolutely amazing day touring Austin hill country with Chef Mike! The whole experience was effortless; our only job was to enjoy ourselves, as Mike had taken care of every detail. Mike is best-in-class. Will definitely book another tour with him.

Chef Mike is a beast of a host! Not only is he passionate about his work, his commitment to make SURE you have a good time is something you don’t find much these days. We did his libation tour and it hit the spot exactly what we needed (2 couples) we went to a winery, Salt Lick BBQ and a unique location named Dessert Door that was SO cool. Mike is the best, don’t hesitate to book with him

The Hill Country Libation tour with Chef Mike is the best hill country experience you can get! He and his wife Lori hosted 12 of my girlfriends for a 40th birthday celebration. We are still talking about how wonderful the experience was! We got to see a little bit of everything, and it all culminated with the most delicious charcuterie/small bites spread at a beautiful winery. Chef Mike and his wife Lori are the most hospitable and warm people. Having a private van and private gourmet chef is the definitely the way to go, but it’s even better when you’ve got such great hosts! I consider them my friends and would recommend them to anyone whether it be a birthday celebration, a family trip, or a corporate event. They will cater to your group and desired experience! You will have a great time guaranteed:)

I recently had Mike cater our office holiday party, 20 people. He met with me ahead of time to plan the menu, showed up to the party early enough so everything would be ready on time, and the food was fantastic! When dinner was over, he left the kitchen spotless. We had several appetizers, Cajun pasta, gumbo, a carving station with various spreads/sauces, and bananas foster for dessert, all served buffet style (as people were coming and going). Everything was extremely well cooked and well seasoned, and everyone at the party enjoyed the food. (Much better than my last experience getting a party catered, where everything was rather bland.) I highly recommend Mike for any of your catering/cooking needs.

We stayed in a very large home with a group of 12 over Super Bowl weekend. Chef Mike was our chef for 2 nights and the meals and his hospitality were exceptional. We had a few people with dietary requirements that he easily accommodated. Mike is personable, prompt, reasonably priced and courteous as well as being a great chef. When we come back to Austin / Lake Travis we will definitely be calling Chef Mike / NOLA Kitchen.

Mike Thompson rocks. His food is amazing, his passion infectious, and his personality makes the experience one to remember.

We had Mike out to our Lakehouse for the second time and as great as he was the first time- he exceeded our high expectations. Can’t wait until next time! Highly recommended – especially if you like authentic New Orleans awesome cooking!

Chef Mike caters our corporate crawfish boil and always does an excellent job! He arrives and sets up on time, and the crawfish, shrimp, potatoes and corn are always excellent! Couldn’t recommend anyone more highly. We will look forward to using him in the future for other events and ALWAYS for our crawfish boil!

We have had the pleasure of eating from Chef Mike’s creations at a couple of events/parties and he doesn’t disappoint! Aside from having the tastiest of New Orleans authentic dishes (dirty rice and gumbo and crawfish boils being our favorites!!) he is professional, personable, super funny and cool and you can’t help but love him and his staff! They are timely, professional, priced fairly and delicious. We recommend him to all of our friends in the Austin and surrounding areas…he is one of a kind, salt of the earth type of guy! Chef Mike cooked for our 7-person bachelorette party, and it was a hit. The food was absolutely delicious. He was friendly and entertaining. It was exactly what we needed for a low-key night in! I mostly appreciate that he was easy to communicate with over email and phone and was very responsive. Highly recommend!
