Not much left of Starnes Island (this is where most of the lake's party barges go to tie off when rented out) Volente Beach Waterpark will shoot fireworks from here on the 4th. Thanks Linda Gregg for the photo. We shot some photos in the spring for Riviera Marina, Lake Travis' Big Bird Party Barge and this island was a MOUNTAIN at that time (40 more feet out of the water). ... See MoreSee Less

Lake Travis GuideJust filled out the form and they make it pretty difficult. 10 digit phone number must be placed in w/o any () or - . Permit no WRPERM 5838 must be pasted in first, then the docket no. 2015-0817-WR selected. THANKS EVERYONE !1 day ago   ·  2

Nicki Beglau BlackJust completed comments. When you go to the site, enter WRPERM 5838 for the permit number. Next click on Docket 2015-0817-WR The third step is completing your mailing and email address. Now you can add your comments. They don't make it easy but voices need to be heard. This is an injustice to Travis County from its residents and visitors to the wildlife.1 day ago   ·  5

Michelle HällLeft my comment there. This is just insane. And it's not just about the rice farmers - I'm amazed people are already calling to have the drought restrictions lifted completely. Why can't we keep things at a level 1 or 2 restriction to better conserve? Drought tolerant plants will do just fine with that.2 days ago   ·  12

John PinsonThe water shortage shut down a lot of businesses in Lakeway. The water shortage also put over 100 family owned car washes in the area in a potential shut down scenario. I hope we are taking this serious. The large amount of rain we are capitalizing on fell on the rice farmers and duck hunters areas to. So what we are being told is no matter how much rain we get we will be in a water alert status?2 days ago   ·  1
Marcie Seaman JonesNoooooooo2 days ago
Susie Schott IlkenhansWe still need to conserve. The summer of 2016 is predicted to be hotter and possibly dry. We cannot afford to take chances as the population of Austin and the surroundings is booming and the demand for water is higher.2 days ago   ·  6

Amy MelendezWe absolutely should not open the floodgates. This seems like it should be common sense and especially not for duck hunters or rice farming. Conservation is key here and the majority of waterfront businesses and towns have gone out of business for years. The area prides itself of conservation, forward environmental thinking and authentic ideas. This idea does not fall into that category.2 days ago   ·  2
