“Yes, I Can!” – a FREE community event

On January 20th, at the Lake Travis Community Library, Reach for the Stars ATX is thrilled to announce the return of “Yes, I Can!” – our FREE community event for kids, focusing on the power of perseverance and positivity. Similar to last year, this special event will feature storytelling and activities deigned for kids of all ages, centered around overcoming obstacles and refusing to give up. To highlight this theme, we are excited to have Lake Travis High School student and children’s book author, Evangeline “Evie” Gatz, join us to read her debut book, “The Grow Up Garden: From Seed to STEM.”
Evie, who is also the founder and president of Lake Travis’ App Development Club, is currently working with other members on an app that will serve as a data hub for local volunteer opportunities. Weaving her passion for computer coding and storytelling, she uses her book to inspire young girls to embrace careers in science and technology. Through the compelling stories of strong female characters in STEM who refused to let barriers stop them, Evie encourages a can-do attitude.
No registration is necessary, but we encourage you to RSVP through reachforthestarsATX.com/ for proper event planning. Additionally, by doing so, you’ll automatically be entered into a drawing for a chance to win your very own copy of “The Grow Up Garden”.

The Lake Travis Community Library provides resources in the areas of the arts, sciences, and literature in the Lake Travis area.
