Please call or check their website to make sure they are open and to see if you need an appointment. Their website is www.austintexas.gov/department/austin-resource-recovery and their phone number is 512.974.4343.

Latex paint- Latex paint can be thrown away in your trash can as long as it is dried out. You can speed up the drying process by adding paint hardener, kitty litter or paper scraps. Oil based paints cannot be disposed of this way and will need to be taken to a hazardous waste drop off or center.

Batteries and lightbulbs- Batteries and light bulbs can be taken to Batteries Plus Bulbs 6317 Bee Caves Rd., Suite #300, Westlake Hills, 78746.

Prescription medication- CVS at 2306 RR 620 South in Lakeway has a drop box for any unused prescriptions or medicine that need to be safely disposed of. The box is located inside the store near the pharmacy.
