Last month a local LT teen and employee of CraigO’s Lakeway learned some very unfortunate news. At just 16 years old, he had been complaining about pain in his back and shoulder, thinking he had a pinched nerve. A visit to the ER revealed the worst, that he in fact has cancer – Ewing’s sarcoma. Ewing’s is the second most common malignant bone tumor in children, comprising 10-15% of childhood bone cancers. Ewing’s family of tumors most frequently occurs in teenagers. It can occur in any bone in the body. Within a week of diagnosis he had begun chemo, and radiation will follow. Treatment will be long and painful, for him as well as his parents and younger siblings, but we are confident that he will stay strong and push through to beat this invader in his body. In the meantime, we would like to help his family get through these difficult times by raising awareness as well as by helping the family out financially. On Thursday January 12th, CraigO’s Lakeway and the CraigO’s Food Truck (located in Apache Shores) will be giving back 20% of sales. If you are able, any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
