Sunset Cruises
The sunsets over Lake Travis are absolutely breathtaking when viewed from the deck of a sailing yacht. This can be a wonderfully romantic cruise with someone special, a get together with friends, or an unforgettable experience for the whole family. We will embark on our cruise approximately one and one-half to two hours before sunset and seek out the perfect spot to watch the sun sink into the emerald water. Following sunset, we’ll set sail again so that you can enjoy an extremely rare and fascinating experience of sailing under the stars and moonlit waters of Lake Travis. Sailing Lessons
Landfall Sailing, a flagship NauticEd training facility, and NauticEd, the world’s most advanced training system, offer a wide range of internationally recognized sailing certifications. Through NauticEd’s alliance with the Royal Yachting Association, the world’s most revered certification system, we help our students pass the RYA Day Skipper course and the International Certificate of Competence, the ICC. The ICC is the world’s only true sailing license for recreational boaters and required by most European countries. We simplify theory training through discussion and demonstration in actual conditions to insure that our students are confident, competent, and knowledgeable sailors capable of chartering worldwide.

Our Fleet
Our immaculately maintained fleet includes three Glen Henderson designed, 33 foot, Hunter coastal cruisers; they are clean, crisp and modern. Each boat is equipped with full instrumentation, chart plotters, autopilots, and Yanmar diesel engines. One of our training yachts is also equipped with radar. These boats are roomy, feature responsive handling and contain the same systems that you will find on fine charter yachts worldwide.

Had such a great experience with Landfall Sailing and #1 Captain Bruce! I had researched other sailing companies on Travis Lake. Landfall Sailing were the most helpful and reasonable. They also made great recommendations for both hotels & restaurants in the area. I let him know it was my Birthday. When we arrived the sailboat was pristine, sails up and added a nice touch w/ a colorful HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAIL too. After Bruce went over the sailboat features & safety, we were off. They provide snacks & courtesy photos. Captain Bruce professionalism, good spirits and attention to detail made the sail UNFORGETTABLE> All the ladies were impressed. We had an amazing time sailing with Bruce! After greeting us with a big smile, Bruce seemed excited to give us a safety briefing and show us his sailboat. He was very professional, and the sailboat was well-appointed, stocked with light snacks and soft drinks, and very clean. I was happy about the spacious cabin where I could lie down on a queen-sized bed if I felt like it. I didn’t know at the time that Bruce was about to spark my interest in sailing. Bruce accommodated every request we had, and was happy to teach as we sailed, all while keeping us safe. When we came back to dock, I left not only knowing that I would engage his services again, but also that I made a new friend.

Had an amazing sunset cruise with our skipper Bruce from Landfall Sailing! Bruce was very knowledgeable, friendly, and great with my 10 year old son letting him “help”. I booked it for my dads 60th birthday and we had a evening full of wonderful memories! Bruce was a great and fast communicator before the sail whenever I had questions which was awesome! Highly recommend Landfall Sailing and would do it a million more times!

I wanted to charter a sailboat to propose to my girlfriend. Bruce was very accommodating throughout the evening. He helped us stow away a photographer, worked with her for good lighting and background, and even held a lamp for her. I can’t recommend Bruce enough and am grateful for the big part he played in making our engagement perfect.

Bruce simply put was awesome!! I wanted to propose to my girlfriend on a sunset cruise and Bruce gave me great advice and instructions in advance, and on the day of the weather was perfect for a sunset sail. Bruce was a gracious and wonderful conversationalist as well, the sail around lake Travis from sunset till evening was amazing. My now fiancé was raving about the experience and it’s something we’ll both be looking to do again. 5 Stars!!

We had a party of 4 and Bruce was such a great host and captain. Very knowledgeable and great photographer as a bonus. The boat is very well maintained and clean and Bruce did a great job of getting us settled in and out on the water. The four of us thoroughly enjoy the sunset sail and look forward to getting back out on the water with Bruce soon!

I wish I could rate this 6 Stars! I booked with another Lake Travis Sailing Charter…one i have used in the past which they ended up double booking me and notified me pretty last minute. Not very happy about that i was frantically trying to find a last minute plan B. I had a special date that evening, so scheduling and planning took some effort for the day/evening we wanted. (This particular day had a full moon) I called Landfall Sailing (I called others who did not answer and i sure am glad they didn’t!) Bruce took my call and upon me describing what happened he was at first not available as he was taking that day off because he had a group the very next morning. We got to chatting as i’m also trying to become a sailor and he heard my story he made special arrangements with his schedule to accommodate ours. The evening was perfect, his 33′ boat is beautiful and well equipped, he was the right amount of engaging host and fun to be around. I will be using Landfall Sailing and recommenced him to anyone i know looking. I’ll also be taking sailing classes with him in the near future. Bruce is a very experienced sailor and a gentlemen. We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary. We took our children (ages 13, 9, and 5). They loved experiencing the cabin, swimming off the back of the boat, and sailing near the front of the boat with their feet dangling over the edge. Bruce was extremely knowledgeable and engaging.

I completed my NauticEd skipper large keelboat tasks with Bruce over a period of a couple days and wow, the man knows his stuff. If you are even remotely interested in sailing, Bruce tailors his instruction to your specific skill level and makes you feel safe and comfortable at all times. Highly recommend!

Bruce was an outstanding host and expert guide. He taught us, entertained us, laughed with us – all while making sure we were comfortable and safe. He is also an expert photographer and took great pictures for us on our tour and even had snacks for us and movies for the kids if they were interested (which they were not because the sail was so fun) Will use him hands down for future visits.

I would recommend Bruce to anyone seeking training. Bruce not only tested me out for the Practical Competency portion of NauticEd’s Bareboat Charter Master rank, but also more than prepared me for the assessment for the ICC (United Nations Resolution 40 Global Sailing License). Despite all of my prior experience, I would not have passed the ICC assessment without Bruce’s patient and clear instructions.

Bruce was such a joy to be with for the very long “test” day out on the water. He was very accommodating with my requests for specific things I needed to be tested on, as well as following the check list by NauticEd. We were so lucky to have a gently wind with sunny skies! His boat was very clean and rigged to make it easy to sail solo. I look forward to getting back for my ICC!

Sailing with Bruce was an incredible learning experience. He is so patient and made sure we spent more time on things I needed help with. Bruce worked around my schedule to make meeting up very easy. The work he did with my building and then polishing my maneuvering under power skills helped make me really competent and confident moving a large boat around in tight quarters. When I went to the BVI and took a class to earn my Catamaran Endorsement, my instructor there got very excited about my skills and told everyone else in the class to come watch how I maneuvered a 39ft catamaran to a dock. I was beaming with pride, and know that all the kudos go to Bruce for being a great teacher. I highly recommend choosing Bruce as a sailing instructor.

Bruce, is not just vastly experienced, he is patient and a great teacher able to give clear instructions and constructive advice when needed. I recently spent three days sailing on lake Travis with Bruce the head instructor at Landfall Sailing to obtain an advanced “international” sailing certification. They are one of the few sailing schools in the US that can certify sailors for the “ICC” which is the International Certification to sail/charter in Europe. The sailboats at Landfall Sailing were maintained in excellent condition. Most importantly Bruce was a great sailing instructor AND an experienced sailor. Bruce really knows how to “teach” which is critical for the best experience and retention of the skills. I would highly recommend Landfall Sailing for both novice and advanced sailors.

Bruce far exceeded my expectations as an instructer. It’s clear that Bruce not only has a true passion for sailing, but also a love of sharing his knowledge with others. Bruce was patient and took the time to really explain things in an easy to understand manner. I never felt like I was “on the clock”. In fact, Bruce went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable captaining my own boat. I would recommend Bruce to anyone just getting into sailing or looking to refresh their skills.
