These guys are incredible and the name of their company couldn’t be more perfect. My whole interaction with them was outstanding and the job was very important to us because our entire house is built around 3 giant oak trees with all windows facing the trees. They were highly responsive to my outreach, super efficient at scheduling a consultation, and very communicative and prompt. They reviewed our large oak trees professionally and thoroughly, listened well to our needs of trimming a large branch that was leaning onto our roof, and also suggested trimming deadwood with rationale that I trusted and did not believe was salesy. They day they came, they were awesome: they were extremely efficient, extremely thorough in removing all deadwood, took a lot of care to protect our house while trimming, they were very strong at making decisions to ensure the highest aesthetics of the trees were maintained (they even cleaned up the neighbor’s bad trim of our tree that went into their yard), they took good care of the trees themselves to prevent future fungus growth, and they were meticulous at cleaning up all branches, leaves, and every last acorn from our property before leaving. I’m usually quite disappointed by service folks but I insisted on a high five from each of these guys and profusely thanked them before they left.

Austin Tree Surgeons did a trim on our gorgeous oak, and a major trim on 3 other trees, today. We are so impressed with their work…… if you’re interested in quality work, rather than the cheapest place in town, we recommend this service without hesitation. Truly excellent at what they do.

Coming back over a year later to say that there’s still no better service to care for our trees. We are so pleased with the expertise ATS brings to our yard. A crepe myrtle that was almost dead a year ago is green and blooming once more, and another that was ill is thick with foliage. Our oaks are strong and some of the biggest in the subdivision, and it’s because they’ve had exceptional care from ATS. We hope to use them for years to come.

Austin Tree Surgeons came to our rescue after the worst ice storm we have ever seen here in Dripping Springs. They were very reasonably priced for great service and had a hard working very polite team of workers. They cut and sealed all the major breaks and showed up on time and stayed a full day every day until it was done. First class operation!

Outstanding service from office staff, arborist to tree trimming crew. After the latest ice storm I had broken tree branches to my live oaks, and after receiving an estimate from one of the arborists I called to make arrangements for the trees to be cut and sealed, and asking if these could be taken care of by the end on the month (February). Although they could not guarantee date, one of their crews arrived on 24th Feb and took care of all the cleanup. Great job, many thanks, Brian U

Called Austin Tree with request for quote on 3 live oaks and 1 red oak tree at my Leander home. Had some concern about damage from winter freeze in 2020. Estimator came the same day and inspected the trees and explained the extent to the damage which was superficial. Gave me a quote for pruning which was below my expectation. Ordered service and was schedule in 3 days. Crew as well equipped, polite, efficient, and kept a clean work area in both my yard and that of my neighbors. Would gladly have them back again.

These guys are great. I just had a big job done (giant tree removed, and another trimmed) and everything about the experience was good. Totally professional. Another company asked for half the cost up front (check only!), and _maybe_ they would do the job in two or three weeks. WTF? ATS did the job just two days after I talked to them, and I was able to pay, online, with a CC the day after. Sweet.

After the 2021 freeze we had a post oak that stopped budding at the ends of most of its limbs.
We have been concerned about dead limbs falling but were hesitant to completely cut the tree down.

We called Austin Tree Surgeons to have an arborist come out and help us to figure out the best way to care for the tree.

They sent an arborist the next day- who confirmed the limbs were dead, but gave us hope that the tree could survive (at least for another few years!)
They had a crew out to remove just the dead limbs a couple days later.

Within half a week from calling we had our tree all taken care of!

There’s a difference between having your trees cared for by a genuine certified arborist and having them serviced by a landscaping company. ATS are knowledgeable, responsive, and happy to answer questions and educate their clients. We have signed a quarterly service plan with them and look forward to seeing our oaks and crepe myrtles thrive under their care.

I called 3 companies to give me a bid. Austin Tree Surgeons came out and sent me the bid before company #2 called me. They completed the work before #3 called me. Fast, Accurate and they cleaned up nicely after the work was completed. They’re in Dripping Springs and I’m in Hutto. You need not waste your time with anyone else. Great company to work with. Price was very fare. Service was extraordinary!!!

Austin Tree Surgeons is reliable, honest, considerate of budgets, and puts their customers first. We have called and had their certified arborists come out on 2 occasions to (free of charge btw) diagnose concerns we had. They were honest on whether or not it would be reasonable to treat the issue and what to do about the problem. We had them come out again to give a (free again) estimate on tree trimming as well. We have a large property and they broke it down in sections for the estimate. The crew they had come and do the job was incredibly industrious, thorough, respectful, and exceedingly careful of all the things that were in their way–string lights, a cabana, roofs, our pool, planting beds, bird baths, etc. They also cleaned up afterwards super well.

Austin Tree Surgeons is a local small business–and a fantastic one at that. I highly recommend them for your needs

Like a lot of other people in Austin, one of my live oak trees died in last year’s freeze. I followed the recommendation from the Texas forestry service and waited to see if it would leaf out. Well, here it is winter again, and not a leaf on it. I applied for a permit from COA to take it down and started calling tree companies for estimates, and by the time COA issued the permit, I’d selected Austin Trees Surgeons to take it down. I got estimates from 6 companies. Worth the extra effort because the top and bottom bids were $8k apart. Austin Tree Surgeons was not the lowest, but I was concerned with more than price. I wanted a reputable company that had its business filings in order because this was a MASSIVE tree and I was concerned about liability in case something went wrong. Insurance issued in the name of a company that isn’t incorporated and has never been listed on the Secretary of State’s website as an entity or DBA (assumed name) might or might not pay out, y’know? Well, I’m happy I hired ATS. They showed up with a large crew and not only was that tree down safely by the end of the day without incident or injury to anyone, but other than the sawdust, they left my yard cleaner than when they arrived. They accommodated requests from some of my neighbors to leave some of the wood to cut up for firewood and the crew were all really pleasant and respectful of me, the neighbors, and my property. I cried to have to take this magnificent tree down (stressful experience for sure), but the company was great to work with and I was happy to pay the bill. Job well done. I would hire them again for sure.

I had an oak tree in my front yard that died after Winter Storm Uri. I’d held off on removal hoping it would revive in time, but it never did. So recently I contacted 3 different tree services, and Austin tree surgeons was about $1000 cheaper than the other two for tree removal and stump grinding. I also spoke with the arborist before confirming the service, and he took the time to answer my questions and explain what he saw that indicated the tree was indeed dead (I really needed that!).

Awesome, awesome, awesome. These guys responded quickly to my request to remove some trees. Quote was very reasonable for the work. They were able to schedule me in for the work within two weeks. These guys are the best…and they are the only company in town that I trust with my trees.

They are great at getting back to you, setting up appointments, and showing up when they say they will. Most importantly, though, in the 5 years that I’ve been using them, they have always taken exceptional care of my trees. Things always look so much better after they are done.

Yes, they are a little bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for.

So my giant tree (about 100′) out front has a fungus working it’s way down its lowest branch & I read about what it was. Found something called Hypoxylon Canker & it can kill the tree if it gets to the trunk. This tree was a factor in us buying the house. It’s huge and majestic and awesome so I got really worried because it’s gonna be at the trunk in a month or so. Then it’s curtains for the tree.

I was concerned about finding the right people to help because I didn’t want them to be like “O well, there’s nothing we can do. Guess you better pay us to cut down your tree.” Kind of like when you go to a mechanic or dentist they always find something wrong so they can get paid. So I looked up who had legit, certified arborists & seemed like they care and came to Austin Tree Surgeons.

I left a message on a Sunday & within 15 mins of them opening on Monday, I got a call. We’re also in the height of the pandemic, so I was unsure if I’d even get a response let alone one immediately. They sent Paul the next day & he was super helpful & knowledgeable. Definitely a legit expert that cared about saving the tree. We’re under social distancing right now so when he got to the front yard and checked it all out he called me and we spoke on the phone & gave me the whole run-down. They’re also really responsive when you call the office. Like 2 rings and they pick up. They even called back when I butt dialed them yesterday.

Just used Austin Tree Surgeons for the second time to trim up a dozen oak trees on our lot. They also removed a large branch from one of the trees that was hanging down too low. The price was reasonable and the service was timely and great. Other than our trees looking much better, it was hard to find any evidence that the crew had been there.

I have a live oak in my back yard that was here before my house was built in 1941. I don’t trust just any dummy to prune it. I have used Austin Tree Surgeons several times to cut it away from my house. Jessica, who took my emails, Paul who came out to estimate the job, and “G” the crew chief were all solid folks to deal with. They scheduled within a week, came when they said they would, and did the job they said they’d do with speed and precision, all at a fair price.
I will call them again and recommend them highly.

Very helpful with my Large Oak trees. They were well pruned by a knowledgeable crew. They didn’t ask for a deposit on the job and billed me after the job was completed.
I’ve since hired Austin Tree Surgeons to tear my trees with an organic oil treatment to keep the hydrated and healthy.
I highly recommend this company for pruning and treatments.

Austin Tree Surgeons did a great job for us. Trimming two large oaks that has not been cared for in years. They removed nearly all the ball moss on the trees. The crew worked hard for a full day and loaded a trailer 6 ft high, 6 ft wide and 12 feet long with trimmings. They left the yard spotless. For my money, a great value!

I’ve tried many companies for tree trimming and Austin Tree Surgeons is the best. The service was prompt and the work was obviously done by skilled laborers. When I got home, my yard was totally clean and my trees looked beautiful. I highly recommend them!

I contacted Austin Tree Surgeons on a Sunday via their website. The next day (Monday), their arborist Jaclyn paid me a visit to estimate the job. They had a customer cancellation and were able to get a crew out to me on Tuesday. Quick service! Service performed by Miguel and crew in mid January 2015.

I have 11 mature Live Oaks; it was a large job involving limb removal, eliminating deadweight and lifting branches off of the roof. Also, I had a Chinese Pistache tree planted by the same crew. They took about 4 hours and were extremely thorough, even blowing the detritus off of the roof, patio and deck. The crew had a great attitude and were there to answer whatever questions or concerns I had.

The invoice was generated and paid through their website. Very quick and smooth.

I was immensely impressed with their body of work and I heartily recommend them as arborists / tree trimming specialists in the Austin area!

I’m very pleased I hired Brad and his team to prune the trees on our property. We have a mix: older, larger live oaks on the sides of the house, smaller live oaks in the front planted when the neighborhood was developed (10-15 years ago), and in the backyard, a youngish cedar elm and a very large, circular motte of old live oaks.

The older trees were thinned out, cleaned up, and raised so no one has to duck around the yard any more. Same thing with the newer trees– the beauty of the work with these, though, is that they now actually look like trees versus giant shrubs on a trunk.

The brush was hauled away and the yard was left spotlessly clean. Aside from the great-looking trees, you wouldn’t have known they were there. Everyone involved was a pleasure to deal with and they finished the job right at their very fair original estimate.

Having professionals prune your trees can get a little spendy, but here in the land of oak wilt, I believe it’s money well spent. Disease aside, the beauty of a job done correctly is worth the cost, too.

I will hire Austin Tree Surgeons again and I recommend them without hesitation.
