Mike Short, the Master Electrician who founded the company, is licensed by the State of Texas as an Electrical Contractor–#20902. He has over 40 years of experience in the electrical trade. We have had flickering lights, brownouts & power surges for the past couple of years. A different electrician came out and assured me all was safe & that these occurrences are just the joys of living in an older home (1956) After continued electrical drama, I reached out to AC Electric on a recommendation. After taking the time to actually listen to my concerns, they felt the issue lay with the utility co. Sure enough, Austin Energy found an issue at the transformer. (broken neutral)
AC Electric took the time & care to visit with me multiple times via phone calls & emails, always expressing genuine concern for the safety of ourselves & our home.
I must say it is rare these days to experience this level of care, service & professionalism.
I’d give em 6 stars if I could. Outstanding service all around.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a home service company I’ve actually liked, but AC Electric has changed my attitude. Mike Short and his crew exceed expectations every time I use them. Our older home has aluminum wiring, and when we bought it, ten years ago, AC Electric was one of the few companies with the expertise to fuse the aluminum and copper wires in a safe manner. We had them fix up every connection in the house and have been using them ever since. Once Mike came out to fix a faulty fuse and knew our home layout better than us – reminded me that a corner cabinet was placed in front of a GFI outlet that tripped and was the cause of the outage. This weekend, we took a ceiling fan/light down and saw some aluminum wiring and a handyman couldn’t do the job. AC Electric is out here making sure every fan is tied in safely with the aluminum wiring, for free because Mike says if they missed it then, they are finishing the job right TEN YEARS LATER! Talk about a long term commitment to customer service! They are friendly on the phone, prompt when they say they’ll arrive and get the job done right. Stop wasting your time looking for an electrician and get hooked up for life with AC Electric, they’re the only guys I’ll be using.

We recently bought a house that we knew had some incorrect DIY wiring from the inspection and some friends referred us to AC Electric. They fixed up the known issues, and we also had them run some new service lines.

They took the time to evaluate the plan along the way. Most companies will just quote a job and plow ahead regardless of what they find when they get into the guts of the house. Bobby looked for creative solutions throughout the job, saving us time, money, and still getting everything done the way we wanted it. Appreciate that and we’d definitely use them again.

Mike did a fantastic job installing the electrical needed for my new outdoor hot tub. First, Mike offered to stop by to provide me a quote in person at no charge, which I very much appreciated. Mike was very accomodating as my schedule changed and had great communication about the time and date for his service. He was professional, thorough, diligent in getting the job done. I also liked that he was friendly and kind. He did the work for the quoted price. I asked him to take a quick look at something else and he did without charge. He also gave me a few ideas about hot tub installation – totally out of his scope but he’s just that kind of nice guy to help if he can. I strongly recommend Mike and will call him forever more if I ever need further electrical work.

AC electric has done it again. Sunday my dryer quit working. I left them a voicemail and Debbie called me back right away and left a VM. The next day my doorbell rings. It’s Mike and he’s here to make a house call and address the issue. Lucky for me I was working from home on a conference call. He replaced the breaker in the blink of an eye and abra-cadabra the dryer is working again! Thank you Mike and Debbie for feeling like a small town business with professional service in a growing city. I’d definitely recommend AC Electric to friends and family!!!

AC Electric re-mediated the aluminum wiring in our old house via Copalum, and I was thoroughly impressed with their customer service and quality of personnel. They’re one of two companies in town who are qualified to do so, and their prices are significantly lower. Although they were VERY busy, and it did take a few weeks after I inquired for them to be able to start the job, when started it was done efficiently, with great care and attention to detail.

Bobby is young and intelligent, and I never questioned whether he knew exactly what he was doing. He and his crew were incredibly courteous, smart, and kept in great communication with us about what was happening and about how long it would take to fix things. We had a real mess of electrical work left by the previous owners of the house, but they got everything working perfectly in several days. Bobby even came back the next week after the job was done, when some outlets had stopped working (not due to anything they’d done, but due to some old broken wires), and fixed the problem, no questions asked. AC Electric are the only electricians I will recommend from now on, and that recommendation will be an easy one to give.
