Jackson Wendell

Born and raised in Lufkin, the heart of Deep East Texas, Jackson grew up surrounded by two things: music and the great outdoors. His family loved to travel and take hunting trips, which meant that Jackson was homeschooled—a lifestyle that allowed him to march to the beat of his own drum. Fitting in with the “normal” crowd never felt right to him. But everything changed on a family trip when his dad gifted him a Yamaha guitar. From that moment on, music became his world.

Jackson’s self-taught guitar skills led him to join his church’s worship team, where he discovered a deeper connection to his music. But it wasn’t until boredom during homeschooling sparked his creativity that he realized his true passion for songwriting. At just 14, he penned his first single, “Ain’t Coming Home,” which he would later release at 17. That first release hooked him, and from then on, he was driven by the need to write, sing, and share his story.

During his senior year of high school, Jackson decided to pursue both music and higher education at Stephen F. Austin State University. It was a bold move that led him to Banita Creek Hall, a renowned music venue in Nacogdoches, Texas, where he found a home on stage. He’s had the incredible opportunity to open for major acts like Randy Rogers, Scotty McCreery, and William Beckmann.

Though the road hasn’t always been easy, Jackson feels blessed for every opportunity that has come his way. And this is just the beginning. With his authentic lyrics and Texas roots, Jackson is set to leave a lasting mark on the country music scene.
