Marvelous Malta with Chef Demeatrie Funderburk!
This tiny (the population is half that of the City of Austin!) island nation, nestled in the heart of the Mediterranean, has long been a strategically important naval port, with many empires such as the Phoenicians, Romans, Greeks, Arabs, Normans, British, French and more battling for control- each leaving a little culinary footprint in Malta.
Chef Demeatrie will celebrate some of these influences in this fun Maltese class.
Menu includes: Pastizzi (Ricotta and Pea Cakes); Aljotta – Traditional Maltese Fish Soup, garlicky and delicious; and Kwarezimel, Citrus and Almond biscuits, traditionally served during Lent but great any time.
The cost for the demonstration class is $59 per person.
