Café Blue, Lae Travis restaurant, is a classic seafood restaurant and oyster bar in the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave. Aquatic blue lighting gives the feeling of being in a tropical paradise, and in an Austin-casual atmosphere. Our menu is a celebration of coastal cuisine from around the world, featuring fresh seafood, classic seafood entrees and special creations found nowhere else.

At Café Blue you will find Chef Ben’s famous clam chowder, straight from his roots in Boston. And Chef’s parker house rolls – likely the best bread you are to ever break. Our oyster bar serves the freshest oysters flown in almost daily, plus shrimp and crab legs. We also have plenty of salads, grilled seafood, and steaks as good as the finest steak houses, with the benefits of crab added to the top! Finish off a meal at Café Blue with fresh key lime pie, made from scratch.

Café Blue is located on the west side of the square in the middle of the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave, Texas, just west of Austin. We are also open in downtown Austin at the corner of 2nd Street and Trinity, just across from the Austin Convention Center.

Cafe Blue is a treat. I love the brown sugar salmon salad. And their rolls are sinfully delicious. This is a lunch spot favorite- fresh and flavorful with a nice vibe, good waitstaff, and classy decor.

Best brunch in the area! I cannot get away from
Ordering the Midas ($11). They have the best cheese on earth! Brunch mimosa flights are only $20 and you get the entire bottle of champagne! The passion fruit mix is to die for too! You simply cannot beat their brunch prices. The atmosphere is great too. Be careful on busy (and special) days (Mother’s Day, etc) as reservations are required and the menu changes. Great spot for after church with friends…

Dozen Bluepoint oysters. Split a blue cheese wedge salad. Coconut shrimp appetizer , split the crab stuffed flounder good stuff. I recommend.

We had the fruit ceviche and cheeseburgers. Both were excellent. The ceviche is probably the best I’ve had–and I’m from San Jose, CA! The restaurant is very chic and calming with its aquarium and blue decor. The server was excellent as well.

Went here for Saturday brunch early afternoon with a lady friend based on her positive past experiences.

Our server was Ian, and we found him to be most helpful and prompt. While mulling over the brunching options, he started us with water and a bottle of La Crema Pinot Gris.

Their menu is one of those that you could literally blindfold yourself and pick a winner. What we chose to do is to start with an appetizer of coconut shrimp and share a lunch order of the lump crab cakes. The waiter told us that brunch comes with a complimentary order of two beignets, which were very much welcomed, even in midsummer Texas.

The beignets were perfectly fried, but not quite as airy inside as they should be. I’d say “doughy” to describe the more bread-like consistency, but don’t take that to mean they were underfried. Perfectly tasty, but not quite Cafe du Monde standards. The coconut shrimp were a bit overcooked, and showed it by being a tad on the rubbery side. But oh the lump crab cakes. They were splendid. I could not restrain myself from the tasty rice pilaf. And the zesty coleslaw was exactly on the mark as was the Cajun remoulade.

Thanks, Cafe Blue for a most enjoyable brunch dining experience. I’ll definitely be back to try on more of your incredible menu.

I went to Cafe Blue for the first time on Tuesday.
I love each detail of the restaurant, from the bubble wall to the shell-design on the silverware.
I was greeted immediately by Rebecca. I admire her attention to detail.
She was quite knowledgeable about the menu, and was patient with me as I explained to her my need for light sauce.
That is the kind of excellent service that I hope to receive when I dine out.
I know that Cafe Blue is what it is today because Rebecca is a member of their training staff.
I ordered the Rosemary Artichoke Pasta with grilled chicken and light sauce.
Compliments to the chef! It was absolutely fantastic. I find myself wanting the same dish as I write this review.
Cafe Blue also made my birthday truly special by delivering a cake and scoop of coffee ice-cream to my table.
I hope to visit this restaurant again soon!

Went to cafe blue for brunch this past Sunday and I was very pleased!

The interior is very pretty, it sort of gave me an under water vibe with tons of blue decor (of course). The brunch menu did not disappoint. They have a great selection to choose from. Because I came on my last vacation day and was stuffed from eating everything on site all weekend I opted for the veggie omelette with, hash browns and a side of fruit. Which was delicious! My boyfriend ordered the Tuna burger and loved every bite!

After brunch we walked the area and people watched. His is a great place to just relax on a Sunday. I would highly recommend.

This place is wonderful. The happy hour rocks! Derek ” Goose” was one of the best waitstaff we’ve ever had anywhere. He guided us through the menu and the whole dining experience with wit and exceptional knowledge of the menu and the wine list. The food was well balanced and executed. We are going to be regulars. Highly recommended!

Excellant service at least I feel a great improvement my dinner I ordered was so good I ate it all the salad was a mixed variety of greens with a delicious steak and fried shrimp all cooked perfectly. Dog friendly outdoor patio and a good breeze to boot. The mojitos were extremely flavorful I had the mango and blueberry. My first review not a pleasant one has improved greatly since I gave Blue Cafe two other chances since it is located in a nicely populated area where you meet nice folks here in Texas. A recommend the shrimp and seafood dishes all cooked well. A chef who knows how to cook a wonderful meal. As you see some resturants do change so give it a try see what you think and do write a review so all of us can view. A very down to earth place for first dates and family……highly recommend this location

Oh my. We have lived in the area for a bit over 2 years. We have obviously made some mistakes here and there but chief among them is not making it to Cafe Blue sooner! For this, I apologize and we will make up for it.

We only came here because the other restaurant we were planning to eat at was unexpectedly closed and someone had mentioned this place was good. So here we are. Opportunity officially seized!

The place is very nice. Upper scale, very modern. Hate the super high ceilings because there’s a bit too much noise. (Complaints end there, by the by…)

The service is great. Our server, Caitlin, did an awesome job. We were never waiting or wanting. She was friendly with plenty of smiles and was always there before we knew we needed anything.

Now to the menu and food. The menu is a very good size, not too much, not too little. The items, some appeal, some not as much but everything looks pretty good, particularly if you love fishes and such. I had the Catfish Louisiane and my wife the Ahi Tuna salad.

Both were very, very good. The catfish was cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside, moist and tasty on the inside. The rice pilaf and spinach were very yummy, just needed some vinegar on the spinach.

Oh yeah, the bread you get when you sit down is awesome. Super salty and moist.

We will return. Many, many times!

Had a wonderful meal here tonight. Our server Ellen was a delight, very knowledgeable and had several great recommendations. Each of us ordered a different entree and were very pleased. The rotisserie chicken was so moist, the PO boy was tasty and the rosemary pasta with Jerk chicken was so flavorful.

We read the reviews and were skeptical but someone else made the reservations. After the meal we all were very happy. Great pie for dessert.

I’m from Maine originally. I’m very hesitant to order clam chowder because no one makes it like they do in New England. Usually it’s all potatoes and filler with odd spices and very few clams. I asked the waitress if the clam chowder was made here or not and she said it was made fresh and it’s amazing. I decided to try it and was ridiculously surprised! It was as if I was home eating it in a Maine restaurant!!! It’s by far the best clam chowder outside of New England that I’ve ever had!!!

I had the blueberry pomegranate mimosa and it was delicious. The blueberries were fresh and not soft or squishy at all.

My husband had a bunch of oyster shooters and the oysters were good but not fully shucked and the one that was still had the piece that attaches they oyster to the shell on it. He said they were good but the dirty Pepe was gross. Not gross like it was made bad, just gross as in he did not like the flavor at all.

We only sat at the bar for drinks and apps. I’m excited to go back and have a meal here. I’ll surely be ordering the chowda again!
