  1. Choosing a school for our children was not something our family took lightly. As a mom with a background in education, I was extremely protective of my child and what I wanted their education to look like. We truly found the best school when we found Bluebonnet. It is the best of the best when it comes to Montessori education. The teachers truly care about your child and family. So much so that when we had to relocated to Florida, the teachers still cared about my child and helped me with the process of trying to find another Montessori school that would meet our child’s needs. Your child deserves to love learning and have a positive experience with teachers that care. Go look at Bluebonnet, you will not be disappointed.

  4. I’m not really sure where to start other than to say we absolutely love this school and all the teachers that work there. We initially sent our oldest son a couple of years ago and were amazed at how he progressed during his time there. We were so pleased that we also sent our other son as well. The affection and love that the teachers have for all the children is entirely palpable. My wife and I have been so impressed by how much the boys have learned during their time at the school. They feel challenged, not in an intimidating way but rather in a motivating manner. It’s gotten to the point that our children are eager for summer to be over so that they can go back and learn! We highly recommend Bluebonnet! You will not be disappointed!

  5. We love Bluebonnet! This will be our third year and my boys are thriving. Sylvia along with all the teachers are the best. They really put the kids interest above all else. We all know the challenges that went into the 2020 school year and they handled it great. They went above and beyond with all safety procedures.

  6. One of the best things we could do for our daughter is Bluebonnet Montessori. She was happy to go there every day and was asking “to go to school” on the weekends))
The teaching system and the personal approach to every kid is amazing. Our daughter learned critical life & social skills taught on top of the first rate academics.
    We absolutely love this place!

  7. We are so thankful that we found such an incredible school for our daughter. Sylvia is an incredibly smart, kind, and overall amazing director for this school. The teachers are wonderful, and they teach in a way that’s best suited to each child’s needs. They are very hands on, and my daughter flourishes in such a wonderful learning environment.
We go out of our way, driving from Austin to this school, because we truly believe this is one of the best schools.
Our child’s reading, math, and writing improved greatly within a short time of going to school here.
Also, her sense of responsibility, leadership, and confidence has grown significantly. If you are looking for a great school that pays attention to not only your child’s learning needs, but help them thrive/ flourish as little humans. This one is hands down one of the best. If not the best.
This school is a one of the best gifts to gift my daughter.
The value it adds is priceless.
We are looking forward to another excellent year of education here.

  8. Bluebonnet Montessori is a wonderful school and community of teachers / parents. We’ve had a student there from the age of 2.5 to 7 and are very satisfied with the academic abilities (especially in math and reading,) love of learning, ability to be independent, and completion of large projects. The school aligns with my views on treating children as individuals that can meet personal challenges. If the child is advancing they make the work more challenging rather than treating all the kids as the same and just expecting one level of progress from the entire group.

Small class sizes and independent study allow kids to work in the directions that they are motivated for while the overall curriculum has an annual pattern to keep them well rounded and to bring newer kids up to speed while serving to refresh and reinforce the veteran kids. During the same class, kids at different ages and abilities become leaders that help each other. The younger ones are motivated to do the work the older ones can do and the older ones are helping the younger ones which reinforces the subject for themselves.

Of note are the foreign language programs, music, art and various after school classes like yoga. There are several annual gatherings where the kids sing, play, and do small performances for the group of parents and siblings.

It’s a very special school and community to be part of. There is a healthy balance of learning, work, and socialization that lets kids be confident and smart.

Would recommend it to anyone with children who are able to concentrate on tasks themselves. Those kids really take off at Bluebonnet because the pace of learning is largely self directed with teachers providing guidance, encouragement, and motivation.

  10. Blue Bonnet Montessori is amazing! I wish I would have brought my kids here earlier! The staff truly cares about all the children and they have exceeded my expectations when it comes to the curriculum! My kids are learning so much more than they would be at a public school. I highly recommend!

  11. The school is amazing as are all of the teachers! My oldest son is leaving the school at the age of 9 and had a wonderful experience- he is leaving with the math skills of an 8th grader thanks to the brilliant Ms. Shah who teaches kids to love math & science. My middle son has blossomed at the school, first with Ms. Raza & Ms. Yvonne who knew exactly how to create an environment in which he could learn his way and now with Ms. Shah he is reaching his full potential. My youngest will start in September and thoughts of moving her to a school that is closer to our house were quickly squashed- we could never deprive her of the Bluebonnet experience her brothers have so enjoyed and grown from.

We absolutely love the school, we love the love Ms. Silvia gives to each and every student and we adore the teachers!

  12. Our family has been with Bluebonnet for five years between two kids, and I couldn’t have asked for a better elementary experience for my children. They truly love learning! The principal, Ms. Silvia, has such compassion for children and such a love for teaching, as do all the teachers. Because it’s a smaller school, the teachers are able to spend a lot of individual time with the students. Not only do the kids receive a top-notch academic education, they also learn life skills, independence, and social responsibility.

I absolutely recommend Bluebonnet Montessori to everyone. It is one of the top schools in the area!

  13. Both my daughters attend this school and absolutely love it. The teachers are very skilled and nurturing, and the curriculum is challenging yet completely developmentally appropriate. Silvia, the school’s founder and director, is hands on and engaging and enthusiastically shares her love of nature and learning with the school community. The building itself is inviting and homey, and obviously designed with students in mind, surrounded by beautiful wooded grounds, complete with a nationally recognized butterfly garden. I highly recommend this school!

  14. For anyone in Austin who needs a great school for their young ones I highly recommend Bluebonnet Montessori School of Lakeway. Having 4 kids who’ve been to many schools I can tell you this school and the teachers are uncommon in their level of caring and ability.

  15. This is an amazing school. The teachers are compassionate, and they love teaching. Ms Silvia, the director, has a heart of gold. My son has attended Bluebonnet Montessori for 2 years, and he’s absolutely thriving here. He’s currently in first grade and already learning algebra and geometry! More importantly, he loves to learn and read! He picks up science books to read on his own, because learning is so fun for him!

My daughter will be attending here next fall when she turns 4. My only complaint is that they don’t go all the way through high school. 🙂

  16. We had our son at another preschool when we heard about Bluebonnet Montessori. We moved our son to Bluebonnet b/c the curriculum far exceeds other programs out here. The curriculum is fun, engaging, challenging and very well rounded with robust music and art programs as well as Spanish and Mandarin classes.

The community of parents is wonderful; everyone is so welcoming. The quarterly potlucks are kicked off with a beautiful music participation lead by the AMAZING music teacher. Both of my kids participated in the after school art class and absolutely LOVED Miss Rebecca. My son also loved the yoga classes and meditation time. This past summer both of my kids did the summer camp and had a blast. My daughter didn’t attend Bluebonnet but was able to attend camp and art class as a sibling. She made wonderful friends and loved all of the activities.

I wish I had more kids to send to Bluebonnet to keep us there for many years!

  17. Our oldest daughter attended pre-K at Bluebonnet last year and is now in the Kindergarten program there. She loves it. It’s the only thing that gets our little night owl up in the morning.

The Montessori Method emphasizes learning through hands-on doing. They have great, work activities for learning about letters and numbers using the sight, sound and touch senses.

They also have several potlucks throughout the year, which emphasizes their super music program. It’s also a good time to connect with the other parents, as it’s a really great community.

Our younger daughter is started this fall too. She is very excited to learn all of the songs, Spanish and Chinese like her big sister (especially how to say “Chocolate Ice Cream”…)

We couldn’t be happier with the programs they offer.
