Zbranek and Holt built our lake house finishing in the middle of Covid in 2020. Just last week (five years later) I needed a hot water heater replaced that had been broken during a freeze, and couldn’t find a plumber to help. With no responsibility for doing so, Tyler at zbranek didn’t hesitate to jump in, find a plumber, and oversee the repair. Their service (and Tyler in particular) was incredible!

Zbranek & Holt Custom Homes built our house in Horseshoe Bay, Tx. Steve, Tony and their staff went over and beyond to help us with exactly what we wanted. We had chosen a color scheme of black and white for the entire house. Jeremy anticipated things to coincide with this scheme and make sure it was exactly what we would want before being asked! Tyler was always available and quick to offer suggestions and help with any questions.Tori was the best at helping with all the purchasing and finding the answer to our many questions and changes. We highly recommend Zbranek & Holt to build your custom home!

The short version: Out of the handful of close friends that have built a custom home in the last 2-3 years, I’m not simply the only one still speaking with their builder, I’m writing them a 5 star review.
The longer version: The opportunity to build your dream, custom home can be an amazing experience. Most of the world never gets this chance. And your hopes and dreams and excitement are all wrapped up in a vision you have for your future home. At the same time building a custom home is hard. It just is. Every custom home is only built once – and the first time you build anything, you make mistakes and learn along the way. When you multiply that by the literally 1000’s of small and large choices, the chance for something to go wrong is nearly 100%. So it’s not a matter of everything being perfect – it’s a matter of how you work together when everything isn’t perfect and doesn’t go well. And in a time of high inflation, contractor variations, and occasional materials shortages, it can even be harder. When choosing a builder, this may be just one of a hundred or thousand homes they’ve built – but for you, it’s likely the only one. We’ve been in our Z&H home for about one year now – and we’ve been able to see the entire process from a wish list of features to a full warranty period. Tony, Tyler, Brandie, and Johnny have been there for our whole journey. The home exceeds our expectations in both form and function. Special thanks to Brandie for working with us through all the small choices we needed to make; we had a standing meeting each Thursday and I always looked forward to those discussions. And special thanks to Johnny for being there with us every day – the good days and the harder days – never wavering in his desire to make things right for us. There were several “unplanned challenges” along the way – some needing small adjustments and others needing a fairly major re-thinking of approach. In each of these moments, I felt like we were able to each be honest with the other on our perspectives, to get the facts and the options on the table, and to come to an agreement on the best way to move forward. None of my friends that have built custom homes can say the same. If you’re thinking of building a custom home in the area, you should definitely consider Zbranek & Holt.

I’ve had a handful of custom homes built over the years and Zbranek & Holt is by far the best custom home builder I’ve used. The house design was very modern with a few challenging design elements, but everything turned out perfectly. Their project manager was very meticulous and was on site every day to make sure everything was done properly. He said at the start he was going to build the home as if it was his own, and he was true to his word, and that goes for the entire staff at Z&H. Their accounting is very transparent, and unlike many other home builders, they won’t underbid the job and then try to hit you with hidden costs later. You can log into your personalized client portal online to always keep up with every detail, and every change order is well documented. It has been a real pleasure working with these guys and I would highly recommend them for any house construction project in the Austin area.

Promises delivered. Steve Zbranek and his professionals led us through the entire process and delivered on everything we agreed on. On time and on budget. Can’t say enough about their office and admin staff. No guesswork on costs vs bids and where everything was in real time. Our onsite project manager was top notch and always very responsive to questions, changes, or any small detail that came up. Not only that, but we have been in the home for almost six months and they continue to follow up and make sure everything is perfect.

We can’t recommend ZH with any greater confidence.

Zbranek & Holt built our custom lake house and completed it in July 2019. The build process was seamless. Steve was incredibly responsive at all times to our every need. The quality of the build was as promised. The project remained on budget which was completely amazing. His architect drew a beautiful design exactly to match our dreams and thoughts. They gave us no hassles. They were professional to work with and efficient. We knew the price before building began for the total project and didn’t even sign up to work with them until all architect drawings and plans were approved by us. The design team takes the stress out of it and they have an online management system so that you can build from far away with no problems. They also knew how to cater to the city building restrictions so that our project moved through the approval process quickly.

Phenomenal team of professionals. Can’t beat this experience with a custom home builder. Most builders can take your plans and build you a house. But this exceptional team took my visions and built me something better. Zbranek & Holt is the “go to” for luxury lake, ranch, or airpark homes.

I am a fan of the work I have seen by Steve Zbranek and his team of contractors. I hope to one day use his services to build my dream home.

I first learned about Zbranek Custom Homes when I was driving around on Panorama Court looking at lots and new construction. There was a home being built that absolutely blew my mind. The gate was open and it was early in the construction phase, so I walked the property. It featured a stunning floorplan with views of the lake and hill country from nearly every single room.

After that experience, I called Steve and began a dialogue. He is very friendly and knowledgable. That was about a year ago. I hope to call him again someday soon.
