Cool, Comms, Collected with Stephanie Threinen: Active Listening
Why do we communicate? To connect, express feelings, persuade, entertain, and inform. Communication skills are essential for both happiness and success at any age.
Cool, Comms, Collected is an interactive group for Lakeway residents of all ages (5th grade thru adult) to refine their skills in effective communication. A certificate is available to participants who complete all five sessions:
• Curiosity – August 3rd at 10:30am
• Storytelling – September 7th at 10:30am
• Active Listening – October 19th at 10:30am
• Collaboration – November 16th at 10:30am
• Conflict Management – December 14th at 10:30am
Stephanie Threinen has been a Lakeway resident for over 10 years. She currently serves as Public Information Liaison for Lakeway MUD. She has a journalism degree from the University of Texas and is certified as a public communicator from Texas Christian University. Her career has ranged from serving as a managing editor of a multicultural beauty trade magazine to operating her own business in marketing, graphic design, and public relations. While she is originally from the Midwest, but calls Texas home, she grew up abroad, living in Southeast Asia for five years, an experience that she attributes her appreciation for new experiences and desire to help others live their best life by asking questions and seeking possibilities.
The Lake Travis Community Library provides resources in the areas of the arts, sciences, and literature in the Lake Travis area.
