On the ‘Finery’ side of things, we specialize in eclectic gifts, unique home decor, elegant entertaining pieces, and everything to make your home beautiful. Julie Kuney also offers personalized design services to breathe new life into your home.

Julie bring her love for design and entertaining in collaboration with her daughter, Lauren. Whether it’s helping bring a room to life with new furniture and accessories, or finding a fresh paint color to update a space, or planning a party with a beautiful tablescape and elegant ambiance – I love it all!

With a degree in Interior Design and more than 15 years of experience in the design field, I’ve helped my clients with designing newly built homes, updating old homes, and simply making their home feel more…like home. I enjoy helping people find their style and watching the joy in their eyes when they fall in love with their renewed space.

Cake

On the ‘Cake’ side, we provide artfully designed- and most importantly- amazingly delicious desserts, fresh-baked to order. Lauren Wienberg is currently taking custom orders through 2022.

Lauren’s love of cooking can be traced back to middle school. I took a Home Ec class and just fell in love with creating delicious food to share with friends and family. I soaked it all in- I loved cooking shows and experimenting in the kitchen. The big red Betty Crocker cookbook became regular reading, and I became famous among my family for my cream puffs.

Fast-forward and fresh out of University of Texas, I took a Wilton cake decorating class just for fun, really enjoyed it, and decided to try selling my baked goodies. I taught Kindergarten and baked on the side for several years. After having children of my own, I needed a more flexible career and did a few different work-from-home jobs and kept baking. Each opportunity taught me important skills that prepped me for owning my own business. In 2019 I decided to give my baking business a real shot. Despite Covid hitting a few months later, my cottage baking business steadily grew, which was so thrilling!

In early 2021, Julie asked me if I wanted to open a brick and mortar boutique/bakery – something I have dreamed of since I was that little girl having fun in the kitchen. We are so excited to be walking through this project together. Finery & Cake is a culmination of so much of what we adore– beautiful things to make our homes welcoming, yummy desserts to feed our friends and family, and a whole lot of our love poured into all of it!

This is simply the CUTEST little gem in Lakeway. Perfect for a girl’s meet up, but be careful- you may leave with one of their precious home decor/barware pieces! If you’re tired of the basic Target/online finds for gifts- this is for you.
The coffee is delish, and bakery items are all handmade (the puff pastries are my favorite!).

Had the pleasure of finally trying out their breakfast items/coffee and it was EXCELLENT! Probably one of the best almond croissants I’ve ever had the Latte was perfect too! Definitely stop here to get fresh, quality pastries!

My favorite bakery in all of Lakeway or West Austin! Owned and run by the sweetest mother-daughter team, all the staff is phenomenal and friendly. They have incredible chai and matcha, not to mention every. single. thing. they bake is out of this world delicious – I tried the monthly special Pistachio Rose cupcake (but I literally can’t say no to a carrot cake cupcake). Plus they now serve breakfast pastries that you MUST try. All the boutique items are gorgeous and unique and it’s hard to not buy myself a little something everytime I visit. Lots of cute seating spaces at tables or couches to get work done or visit with someone! Go find them in Lakeway Plaza, support small business, you won’t be dissapointed!!

Just had a custom birthday cake created for my son’s birthday and it was the perfect and delicious! I don’t live in the area but the consultation was so easy, great communication, and I really appreciated everything. We will definitely be back for more dessert next time we are in town!

Amazing place! Excellent cupcakes and cakes. Moist cake and great consistency for icing- not too sweet. Great for custom orders- they made a gorgeous and very tasty cake for my friends baby shower.

We threw an 80th birthday party for my mother-in-law and when we asked her what type of cake she would like, she said carrot cake. I was not sure where to find a carrot cake for 20 people so googled and found Finery and Cake. We ordered their carrot cake, which is gluten free, as well as a dozen red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing and a dozen chocolate cupcakes with buttercream icing. We were blown away by how good everything was. Our out of town guests were exclaiming that this was the best carrot cake they had ever had. The cake and the cream cheese icing were perfection. The cupcakes were absolutely delicious as well. The cake and cupcakes were beautifully decorated as well. We will be using Finery & Cake for our future birthdays. Everything was absolutely wonderful!

I absolutely love this shop. You can shop for beautiful furniture or home accessories while enjoying delicious cupcakes and coffee. I tried the most decadent and delicious gluten free carrot cake cupcake. I loved that it wasn’t overly sweet and my daughter who is not GF couldn’t even tell that it was GF, that’s always a good sign of a quality GF product. The owner Lauren was so kind and patient with us as my daughter customized a cake and some cupcakes for her birthday. I’m so happy to have Finery and Cake in town, we will be coming often.

This Summer had several events needing special desserts. Finnery delivered every time! This included mini cheesecakes, a full wedding cake, and several other treats. Lauren is an amazing baker! Julie is wonderful! If you have not stopped by, check them out and try some of their awesome desserts.

Not only will it be the most beautiful dessert you will ever eat, it will be the best tasting. Even things I don’t particular enjoy, the team at Finery & Cake make it taste INCREDIBLE! My personal faves: Salted Caramel or chocolate with cream cheese frosting. Both have the most delicious and moist chocolate cake. Salted Caramel frosting is so creamy and delicious and the salty sweet combo is everything!!! The only bakery to order from in the area…you will not be disappointed!!

We ordered a chocolate cake last minute for our son’s birthday and we couldn’t be happier with it. The baker was very kind to take the order. The cake was not cloyingly sweet like most cakes these days are. It had all the components of a decadent chocolate cake with the perfect sweetness, richness and texture. It was a winner and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the cake. Highly recommend Finery and cake for any special occasion!!

Delicious gluten free carrot cake cupcake. I am not gluten free and very picky with my icing but this place blew it out of the water. My latte also very delicious. Customer service was also excellent! Cute and fun home decor.

Not only is this place sooooo cute and great for photos, the pastries are DELICIOUS!!!! Most recently I had this cookies n cream red velvet cake that was incredible. Rich, moist, and full of flavor, the cream cheese frosting brought the entire slice together beautifully. Highly recommend!

This is a fantastic little place for breakfast in Lakeway! Delicious pastries (sweet & savory) and excellent beverages. My go-to is a scone and tea, but there’s something for everyone. Plus all the other bakery goodies are delicious! The cakes & cupcakes are always moist, and the macarons are the best in the area. I love this place!
