Texas Wake Academy’s Wakeboard and Wakesurf Day Camps make lake days effortless and fun.

We provide hassle-free transportation to and from Lake Travis, giving campers a quick and comfortable 35-minute ride to our camp location in Horseshoe Bay on Lake LBJ.

Day Camp Experience

Summer camp sessions for campers ages 7 to 15.
Day camp sessions run Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Swimming, games, and snack breaks are provided to keep campers cooled off and refreshed.
No wakeboarding or wakesurfing experience needed.
Wakeboards, surf boards, life jackets, and all equipment will be provided. Campers may bring their own equipment.

We believe the lake is the perfect place for kids to get outdoors in a screen-free environment. Camp is a place where children have strong role models, grow in confidence, and improve their wakeboarding and wakesurfing skills along the way. There is no better place to facilitate your child’s growth while also making friendships and memories.

Instruction
From learning how to get up on a wakeboard, wakesurfing without the rope, or even landing a flip our coaching methods, speeds, and boat wakes are tailored to each camper’s individual skill level.

Our Counselors
Our counselors are here to be an encouraging role model and coach to your child. They will help your child make new friends and enjoy an unforgettable summer camp experience.

Activities
Whether learning a new wakeboard trick or playing frisbee on the beach, our activities provide an opportunity for campers to set goals, take reasonable risks, and improve their water sports skills.

Our Equipment
We run MasterCraft wakeboard boats paired with wakeboards and wakesurfs from Hyperlite. The customizable Gen2 surf system lets us create the perfect wave or wake. Matching each camper with the right gear is key to setting them up for success.

I absolutely can not say enough about how great my experience was with Texas Wake Academy on Lake LBJ. After finding their great website, I filled in a short form that asked what I was looking for and within a few hours I was contacted via email by Jack Guenther from Texas Wake Academy. After verifying what I wanted, Jack booked me a 3 hour lesson for the following weekend with a great coach to help my adult kids with wakeboarding tips. The coach was a college age man that was such a perfect fit for our group. He showed up 15 minutes early and was such a fun guy with a great smile, everyone on the boat immediately liked him and could relate with him on the tips he was giving everyone. As soon as I get another group together that needs a refresher course, we will book with Texas Wake Academy again. They definitely exceeded my expectations and our coach made our day so much fun.

My kids, 13 and 15, both loved this camp and were inspired to learn more. The counselors were knowledgeable and friendly and I felt very safe letting my kids hang out with them all day.

WOW! My kids LOVED this camp. It was done so well. The staff and owner are super nice and are great with kids. Its not just a learn your board kind of camp it is lets have fun while we are doing it. Totally would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn and wants their kids to worn out at the end of the day. Thanks again for the amazing experience!! We will be back!

I signed my kids up for half days and and after the first day they asked if they could do full days. They loved it. The coaches were awesome and it looked like they had all ages and skill levels. We’re definitely going back next summer.

Our kids had a GREAT experience at Texas Wake Academy for their private boating instruction. Audrey was a great teacher, super supportive and helpful. She also was knowledgeable and helpful to us on the boat / wake so we can continue what they learned! The owner, Jack, was responsive, kind and professional. I would HIGHLY recommend this program to anyone wanting to teach their kids to wakeboard!

We did some private lessons on Monday afternoon this week. Audrey and Clayton were our instructors. They were awesome. The teenagers I brought with me had a great time and learned some things about wakesurfing. Audrey in particular is a phenomenal instructor! Very patient and encouraging with them. Well done!

Our two boys attended the Summer Camp last week and had a great time! They learned new tricks wakeboarding and wakesurfing, had fun swimming and playing with new friends, and loved their coaches Jack, Cameron, and Ashlyn.

We hired Jack and his team for private wakeboard/wake surf lessons for our son and two of his friends. Not only did all 3 kids (15 year olds) learn a ton, but they really liked Jack and Cameron. Both instructors were fabulous, courteous, responsible, and incredibly knowledgeable! They even helped me and my husband get up on both types of boards (bonus for us!).

I was additionally grateful for the boating tips I learned. Not only am I better at towing now, but I have a better understanding of the ways to manipulate the waves and speeds for different riders and different skill levels. I cannot recommend Jack and his team more highly!

Our two boys, ages six and eight, had an awesome time at camp. They loved all the coaches and enjoyed getting to know the other kids on the boat. Though we were a little nervous about entrusting strangers with our kids on a boat all day, Jack, Cameron and Ashlyn took great care of them. One of the biggest benefits for us was the significant increase in board control and confidence they both developed over the week. They have regular practice on the water, but the coaches took it to another level, and it’s wonderful as a parent to see the increased confidence transfer to other parts of their lives as well. The increase in skill level was also frankly a bit shocking – we did not expect their skills to increase at the levels they did. Since summer is so short, we have signed them up for a second week to take full advantage of the season and the camp’s offering.
