Indrajit performs Indian classical solo sitar recitals with tabla. He conducts workshops and lecture demonstrations of Indian classical music in universities and K-12 schools. His music is suitable for all ages. Typical venues include concert halls, churches, schools, libraries, festivals, and clubs. He is a leading exponent of sitar and founder of Antara School of Indian Classical Music in Austin, Texas. His musical family includes his mother, Manju Banerjee, his guru Pandit Kartick Kumar, Pandit Barun Pal, Niladri Kumar, Partho Das, Aparna Roy, and others. Indrajit has a special lyricism on sitar and tours extensively. Notable performances include Theatre de la ville (Paris), Carnegie Hall, Lebanon Peace Festival, Blue Note, Green Mill, Chicago Jazz Festival, South by Southwest, Martinique India Festival, Joshua Tree Festival, Levitation Festival, and others. He is an A grade artist of All India Radio and Television. Indrajit collaborates and performs with many exceptional musicians including Sting, Steve Smith (Journey), Yaron Herman, Abbos Kosimov, Fareed Haque, Adam Smirnoff (Lettuce), Jeff Coffin, Sherman Brothers, and others. He has also arranged music for documentary films.
