“Anticipating the Eclipse” at the Four Points Artisan Market
The Texas Girls Collaborative Project (TxGCP) is thrilled to announce the “Anticipating the Eclipse” event at the the Four Points Artisan Market located at 8300 North FM 620, Austin, TX 78726.
This unique event, in collaboration with the Greater Austin YMCA and Kale Me Crazy Austin, aims to provide an engaging and educational experience for attendees as they prepare for the upcoming total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024.
Participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights into what to expect during the celestial
phenomenon set to occur the following day.
Event Highlights:
• Free Eclipse Glasses: While supplies last, visitors will be able to acquire
complimentary eclipse glasses to safely view the celestial spectacle.
• Solar Exploration: Explore the sun through a telescope equipped with a solar filter
and engage in hands-on activities related to solar eclipses, catered specifically for
elementary and middle school children.
• Citizen Science Activities: Join representatives from the Citizen and Community
Science Library Network, led by SciStarter, Arizona State University, and the
National Girls Collaborative Project, to learn how you can actively contribute to
scientific research on eclipse day.
• Four Points Artisan Market: Explore over 25 booths of local artisans at the local
market organized by Kale Me Crazy Austin. Browse through a variety of unique
handmade goods, from jewelry to home decor, clothing to specialty foods,
handmade soaps and cosmetics, and support small businesses in your
community.
